    debian 8 install issues

Had a catastrophic failure & find myself rebuilding my trusty server from scratch. I've got a ConnectX2 card, which limits me to MLNX_OFED_3.4, and consequently, limits my Debian version to 8.3, though I'm running 8.1 due to an issue w/ zfs_dkms.

I get errors during module builds for several packages (iser-dkms, mlnx-sdp-dkms, & mlnx-nfsrdma among others). Looking @ the make.log for each, they all have similar errors like the following:

ls: cannot access /var/lib/dkms/mlnx-ofed-kernel/*/build: No such file or directory

ls: cannot access /var/lib/dkms/mlnx-ofed-kernel/*/build: No such file or directory

makefile:17: /usr/src/ofa_kernel/configure.mk.kernel: No such file or directory

And indeed, after installing mlnx-ofex-kernel-dkms, there are two folders in /var/lib/dkms/mlnx-ofed-kernel/3.4 (/3.16.0-4-amd64 & /source) but no /build folder. Is there a package that's supposed to populate that folder that isn't being run?  I can't for the life of me figure out how there were no issues setting this server up 2 years ago.

      System info:

      installation file: MLNX_OFED_LINUX-3.4-

      hardware: ConnectX-2 EN (MT26428) Firmware 2.9.1000
