Mellanox ConnectX-2 and diagnostics tools under Windows

      Hello !

We have a overheat issue in one of our Supermicro blade where a Mellanox ConnectX-2 adapter is installed.

We are trying to find out if the mellanox adapter is the source of the heat.

FYI , Supermicro probes report : PCH (southbridge) 74°C and Peripheral 65°C

We tried the MLNX_system_snapshot tool to gather temperature info but, alas, could not find anything.

Do you know if the adapters have temperature probes ?

Have you ever heard of adapters overheating ?

Thanks for any input on this issue.

          Hi,

to the best of my knowledge, I am not aware of any temperature issues with this card. I should add that the ConnectX2 (and other similar) comes in different flavors and form factors. The specific one you have was specifically designed for Supermicro Blade and went through Supermicro testing and integration. This did not come up.

I suggest you contact the server manufacture. If it turns to be a card issue, they have a way to contact Mellanox support and engineering.

          Cheers!
